PRESIDENT’S DESK

At the Annual General Meeting of the Nigeria Community in Tasmania held in Launceston in October 2023, a new executive was elected by members of the community to pilot its affairs for the next 3 years.

In the past 6 years, the community witnessed a wave of positive development under the leadership of Dr David Onu, the immediate past president. His leadership launched the association into the mainstream Tasmania social and multicultural community and created the necessary awareness on the existence and activities of the association. We want to thank Dr Onu and his team for an excellent job.

The new executive is poised to build on the positive foundation and gains of the past 6 years. Our executive is peopled by men and women of immense talent who have pledged their dedication to service of the community. All members of the executive are committed to the advancement of the association and are ready to bring their experience to bear.

As the president, I want to reassure members of the community and the public in general that service to the Nigeria Community in Tasmania is the only aim of this executive. We pledge to deliver service to the community. We shall listen to you and more importantly, we shall not let you down.

I implore all Nigerians living in Tasmania, to lend their support to the community by supporting and identifying with its programs.

The challenges ahead are enormous but working together, we have the quality and determination to take this association to greater heights.

As an executive, we shall periodically provide you with updates on activities of the association using all our official handles.

Thank you and God bless you.

Dr Ikechi Gbenimacho

President.
